Timber Windows & Doors

Timber Windows & Doors – Natural Warmth, Craftsmanship & Timeless Beauty

Nothing matches the genuine warmth, character, and luxury of real timber windows and doors. For centuries the material of choice for Britain’s finest homes, modern engineered timber combines that classic beauty with exceptional longevity, energy efficiency, and performance that far exceeds the original Victorian or Georgian joinery.

Why True Timber Remains the Premium Choice

  1. Unrivalled Natural Beauty -The unique grain, texture, and warmth of real wood (Accoya, oak, sapele, or idigbo) simply cannot be replicated by uPVC or aluminium. Every frame is unique and ages gracefully.
  2. Engineered for a Lifetime (and Beyond)
    • Laminated, finger-jointed, or Accoya timber eliminates warping and twisting
    • Factory-applied microporous paint or stain systems last 8–12 years before first maintenance

Outstanding Thermal & Acoustic Performance

  • Natural low thermal conductivity of wood + modern glazing = U-values as low as 0.8–1.3 W/m²K with triple glazing
  • Thicker timber sections allow deeper glazing units and better sound insulation

Perfect for Heritage & High-End Projects

  • Fully approved in conservation areas and listed buildings
  • Exact replication of original Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian, or Arts & Crafts detailing.

Fully Bespoke

  • Any shape: arched, gothic, circular, curved heads
  • Traditional single glazing with putty (for Grade I/II* listed) or slim double/triple units
  • Choice of ironmongery: brass, chrome, bronze, or period black.

Popular Timber Styles

  • Flush casement windows (19th & early 20th-century style)
  • Entrance doors & French doorsets with raised & fielded panels
  • Stormproof casements for contemporary homes

Eco-Credentials

  • Sustainably sourced FSC or PEFC timber
  • Accoya is cradle-to-cradle certified and carbon-negative over its lifetime
  • Fully repairable and 100 % recyclable or biodegradable at end of life

Invest in windows and doors that get more beautiful with age. Choose real timber and enjoy craftsmanship that will still be admired in another 100 years.

How We Replace Your Timber Windows – Step by Step

Replacing rotten, draughty or painted-shut timber windows with modern timber or timber-look alternatives is a specialist job we do cleanly and with minimal internal disturbance.

  1. Free survey & quote -We inspect every frame, check for rot or movement, and discuss real timber, Accoya, or timber-effect aluminium/uPVC options.
  2. Manufacture -Your new windows are made-to-measure in 4–8 weeks (factory-painted or stained, triple seals, A++ glazing).
  3. Installation day
    • Dust sheets and floor protection throughout
    • Old timber frames and sashes carefully removed
    • New timber (or timber-look) frames fitted with new cills and trims
    • Multi-point espag locks and traditional-style handles tested
    • Warm-edge glazing installed

  1. Final finish
    • External silicone or putty-line finish to match heritage style
    • All old timber taken away and recycled
    • Full handover – we show you how to open, lock and maintain

Result: beautiful, warm, rattle-free windows that look period-perfect but perform like new – backed by our 10-year insurance-backed guarantee.
